I am honoured that local constituents have put their faith in me to continue as their representative in Ottawa. As you know, the Prime Minister has also called me into the federal cabinet as Minister of Natural Resources. Having worked in both the mining and forest industries, I know the importance of natural resources to Canada’s present and future prosperity.While I am now sitting on the other side of the House of Commons, and as a member cabinet, I remain committed to continuing to put the needs of Saanich-Gulf Islands and of Canada first.
